Creating a better energy future
Saving energy in our schools is an important way to help control costs and protect the environment. The Energy Management for Schools Program provides support services and financial assistance to improve energy management in existing and planned school facilities.
The program helps schools in Lake Mills benchmark energy use and encourages a coordinated approach to school energy management, helping the community save both energy and money. In addition, the program creates the opportunity to integrate energy education into classroom curriculum, educating the next generation for a better energy future.

- 248 school buildings are being served,
- 186 schools have completed ENERGY STAR® benchmarks,
- 124 efficiency projects have been completed,
- More than $144,000 has been awarded in program incentive grants for projects.
