Warm up for summer with water-saving tips for your landscaping
Most outdoor water use—80 to 90 percent—is for lawn irrigation. However, having a beautiful landscape doesn't have to mean using a lot of water.
By following a few simple practices, such as watering your yard only when needed and watering in the morning, you can keep your lawn and landscape looking great without wasting water.
Another way to save on watering is to reduce your lawn size by sectioning off an area of your yard for native plants. Their deep root systems keep water in the soil. Plus, you won’t have to mow them.
